GPS Waypoints Collection
Ground Transportation

You will find on this page a collection of waypoints files related to ground transportation (subway/metro/trains stations, bus stops, etc). It consists of files I have created some time ago for my own usage.

The files are in GPX format (http://www.topografix.com/gpx). This is a quite universal XML-based format that is supported by more and more GPS software. If you are, like me, a Garmin user, you can load these files directly in MapSource or Basecamp. If your program doesn't support the GPX format, have a look at GPS Babel (http://www.gpsbabel.org) that is able to convert from GPX to a lot of proprietary formats. If you submit a file from your own for inclusion in the collection, I will try to make the conversion for you, so it is not mandatory that you send the file in GPX format.

Tenerife (Canary Islands) - Bus

titsa-v1a.gpx		 This file contains 3414 bus stops of TITSA, the public bus company of Tenerife island. The waypoints have been automatically generated from data available on the pages of TITSA. Bus lines numbers are included in the comments of the waypoint.

Paris (France) - Metro/Subway

paris-metro-v1a.gpx		 This file contains 302 stations of the RATP metro in Paris. The waypoints have been automatically generated from data available on the pages of the RATP web site. It should be noted that although metro stations in Paris have usually several exits, only one waypoint exists for each station. It is located at a position that should be around the center of the station and you should be able to visually find one or more exits near it. Some have been checked during a trip in Paris and seem to be ok.

Marseille (France) - Metro/Subway

marseille-metro-v1a.gpx		 This file contains 24 stations of the RTM metro of Marseille. The waypoints have been manually entered in MapSource from a printed map of the city. Some have been checked during a trip in Marseille and seem to be ok.

Toulouse (France) - Metro/Subway
